Can't believe I never put it together who your brother is. I've known about his poem, The Ballad of Jesus Ortiz for some time and met him in his days at the NEA. His video message seems so simple and straightforward. So why is it so difficult for so many of us? thanks for sharing these.
wise thoughts - and resonate - I write because I have something I think is important to say about music and emotions (really about myself) and my life long experience and education in both fields and the passion I feel about blending these topics - I love your questions about "why do you write?" - for me, like you, writing matters! I feel most content when I am writing
